Looking South.......

from Cape Foulweather. Yaquina Head lighthouse is barely visible in the distance. The cape failed to live up to its name on this rare day....

Pi.................

.....ascendant. Classical pi. Mother's own. Antiquity tech. A most interesting piece -- another that has languished - unfinished - for years until each element came together slowly. Motivated, I am certain, by the opportunity to show my work. Mask is life-sized. Ceramic and wood.

Wikipedia says thusly: The Greek letter π, often spelled out pi in text, was adopted for the number from the Greek word for perimeter "περίμετρος", first by William Jones in 1707, and popularized by Leonhard Euler in 1737.[3] The constant is occasionally also referred to as the circular constant, Archimedes' constant (not to be confused with an Archimedes number), or Ludolph's number (from a German mathematician whose efforts to calculate more of its digits became famous). Walter's Secret........

......Laboratory. Assemblage. Approx 22-inches tall, 7-inches wide, 5-inches deep. This piece has been about two years in the making (yeah, ran into conceptual issues at the 80% done stage)...but finally ...WALLAH....she is THERE!

......until VAST TOUR......

I'm sharing studio space with Hiro Glover and I think we'll have a very balanced body of works to exhibit. I'm looking forward to this opportunity.
