Shipping Artwork
A few thoughts on shipping assemblage pieces.
Recently I had to ship the submarine piece featured below. This stressed the holy cow out of me for various reasons:
1. The piece was not constructed with shipping in mind.
2. I had NO idea where I could find a box that would fit it well enough.
3. I really had no idea how to pack it well enough without dis-assembly.
While I was stressing, I discussed it with the coordinator of the show. Diane suggested FedEx.
I took the piece to the local FedEx shipping station expecting to hear that the cost would be $100 for packing AND shipping (or upwards thereof).
To my GREAT surprise, the helpful clerks (and very very helpful they were) said no problem and the total cost (to San Francisco) was a mere $33.
Wallah. If only everything in life could be so simple. The piece was delivered in a few days and apparently without mishap.
Life is good.

Transference
Decided to do a rework of an older piece -- now it's what I wanted. Acrylics. 8-inches x 10-inches on wood panel.
