This piece has 3 separate LED circuits - lights in the 3 vacuum tubes, an ultraviolet LED buried within the mask (visible through the nose and mouth) and the white 'sequencing' LEDs that scan the face, then proceed upwards through the 'confessional' circuit (red LEDs).
Mixed media. Approximate size is 20-inches x 17-inches x 6-inches. Sold at the AIA "Outside the Box" auction.
Pretty cool! I can see a whole series of them lined up in a futuristic train station like (the shortly to become obsolete) public telephones!
