Guardian Series #1: Gatekeeper

 Ceramic, raku fired.  Roughly 17-inches tall.  This is not exactly what I had in mind for the final finish, but it is what it is.  The darker areas on the base is terra sigillata which apparently does not fire true under glaze in reduction.   The very top did retain color, so it is a bit puzzling.

Another Cthulhu Installment

 

This being Easter and all brings to mind the various myths of risen saviors which, in turn, leads one's thoughts down dark and tortured paths hewn in solid dripping stone to the secret chamber of.....well, nevermind.   But I thought "hey!", this is the perfect time for the unveiling of the newest Cthulhu statute...aka idol...origin and provenance unknown.   Cast from the dark reaches of the Universe to wash up on the shores of this planet, or disgustingly disgorged by the very earth itself, this relic of the Elder Things exists between the planes of sanity and madness....and now, is thrust fully into the sunlight to ensnare new devotees to the star-spawned slumbering God.
