Marx Magic Mender......

ROCKS!  I swear -- so many products claim to do things they don't, that it's rare to find one that truly does.  This product has saved my work so many times in handbuilding the Crow-Kins (I have problems with keeping their hats in place).  I even took a handbuilding class because I figured there must be a secret I didn't know.  Nope.  I scored and slipped, but the area available for joining is so small, I inevitably run into issues.  This stuff saves the day every time on greenware.  I haven't had to use it on bisque yet, so I have no idea how it works with it.

Anyway....just saying.

New bowl musings.....

Finally got around to repairing my lathe (bent head stock shaft due to a very bad jam while turning far too large a chunk of wood).  Had a walnut tree cut down this past year and salvaged this from the firewood pile.  So far so good.....

Mid-Fire Garden Totem

Test piece garden totem.  Cone 6 clay & glazes.  Wanted to test the new (to me) kiln, the outside durability of the clay and the new glazes.  As well as making sure I calculated the hole size to allow for proper shrinkage.   All assembled on a 3-foot section of 5/16-inch threaded rod.

I'm happy with the results.  Georgies' Timberline Sculptural clay with paprika, tumeric and emerald green ash glazes.

New totems in the works with surface texture and shape experimentation.
