Mid-Fire Garden Totem

Test piece garden totem.  Cone 6 clay & glazes.  Wanted to test the new (to me) kiln, the outside durability of the clay and the new glazes.  As well as making sure I calculated the hole size to allow for proper shrinkage.   All assembled on a 3-foot section of 5/16-inch threaded rod.

I'm happy with the results.  Georgies' Timberline Sculptural clay with paprika, tumeric and emerald green ash glazes.

New totems in the works with surface texture and shape experimentation.

Poured Paint................

...........explorations on 6x6 canvas panels.  This is something I read about over the holidays.  The resemblance to fractal forms fascinated me and I thought it'd be interesting to try.

There are many, many variations on this theme if you were to search You Tube for videos on the subject.
